Tough Guys & Cherry Blossoms

Vancouver is famous for the Cherry Blossom trees that bloom in a riot of outrageous pinks every year. And every year we are treated to a plethora of banal photos of those same blossoms. I took it upon myself to restore some balance to the conversation.

For this project I wanted to juxtapose the effete blooms with some men who have a kind of stereotypical ‘toughness’ about them, a certain physical presence, and some men who aren’t necessarily tough looking, but whose life experiences might indicate otherwise….
